Story

This month I’ve committed to walking 10,000 steps a day for Melanoma March. We are halfway through the month & so far I’m on track 👟👏🏼

I thought I’d share a little bit about why this cause means something to me.

In August 2024 I went for my routine annual skin check & had a few slightly suss spots removed. In September I found out one of those was melanoma.

Because of my age & family history I was referred quickly to a professor at the Melanoma Institute of Australia, and the following week had surgery at North Shore Private to remove the melanoma and the connected lymph nodes. The morning of the surgery was spent doing all kinds of tests to map exactly where the melanoma had spread (if anywhere) 🤞

The surgery itself was scary for me, but the hardest part was that Elle was only 6 months old & my mind went to the worst of what if…. 💔

Anyway, this isn’t a sob story. There are so many people going through far worse & I’m SO grateful that we got onto it early & I was cleared

I just wanted to share my story as a reminder to please get your skin checked!!!!! Especially now that summer has ended. It takes minutes and could literally save your life.

If you have a few spare dollars this week, I’d love if you could donate via the link in my bio to help build awareness & a cure for the cancer that most commonly affects 20-39 year olds! 🤍
