Story
Hi there 👋
This year my family and I have created a team to take part in the Melanoma March, raising funds for Melanoma Institute Australia to support vital melanoma research, treatment programs and education.
This fundraiser is very close to our hearts. Last year, our mum was devastatingly diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic melanoma, which returned 22 years after she had a melanoma removed from her back at the age of 34. While melanoma research has come a long way over the past decade, sadly in Mum’s case it is not enough. This is why we are fundraising - to help support ongoing research and education, to raise awareness about how critical sun safety is in Australia and to hopefully make a difference for other affected families.
Australia has the highest melanoma rates in the world. If caught early, 90% of melanomas can be cured through surgery. We strongly encourage everyone to get their skin checked regularly by a GP, skin cancer clinic or dermatologist!
We are walking 10,000 steps per day in February and March in support of our beautiful mum, Kerri.
If you’re able to support us, please click Donate to make a secure online donation. No amount is too small - even $1 or $2 makes a difference. Thank you so much for your kindness and support 💖
How many years have you taken part in Melanoma March
